Solmar and Crew

Solmar and crew are waiting for spring. It will be here before we know it.

A brief history

Our sailing life together began on the family's Chris Craft 26, our first sailboat was a Hobie 16. Then we graduated to a Pearson 26OD, J22, and J29 on Lake Winnipesaukee. Our focus began to change with the decline of racing on the lake and started thinking about cruising on the coast of Maine.

After searching for a boat, the opportunity to purchase our sister and brother-in-law's Sabre 28 came up. Knowing the boat's history and having sailed on her, made it a no brainer for us to make this move.

After sailing our Sabre 28 Mk III #586 for 4 season, and thinking about retirement, we started looking for a larger boat. The search came to an end when we found "Brave New Wind", a Robinhood 36, soon to be renamed Solmar. The purchase was final on November, 16th 2006 and we can't wait for spring.

Moved aboard on May 12, 2012.
